Kids' Fest! Free Matinee Screenings at the Robina Community Centre presented by Division 11

***Saturday April 20 and Sunday April 21***

The Gold Coast Film Festival is once again holding FREE screenings for the family in 2013, but this time it will be at an all new location: the Robina Community Centre!
Films will run as double features on the 20th and 21st of April 2013 from 3:00-5:30PM and 5:30-7:00PM.

 

     

Have a movie camp out! Bring your own comfy seats! There will be an area reserved for kids foam couches and bean bags at the front of the cinema.

Pirate Captain sets out on a mission to defeat his rivals Black Bellamy and Cutlass Liz for the Pirate of the year Award. The quest takes Captain and his crew from the shores of Blood Island to the foggy streets of Victorian London.

Bastian is a young boy who lives a dreary life being tormented by school bullies. On one such occasion he escapes into a book shop where the old proprieter reveals an ancient story-book to him, which he is warned can be dangerous. Shortly after, he "borrows" the book and begins to read it in the school attic where he is drawn into the mythical land of Fantasia, which desperately needs a hero to save it from destruction.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION: MOVIES OF OUR LIVES Finalists  - 5:00PM

Winners of the Gold Coast Film Festival and Fort Lauderdale Film Festival Movies of Our Lives Competition. Entrants were asked to create a 1-3 minute film about life on the Gold Coast or our sister city Fort Lauderdale.

MAGIC IN THE WATER - 5:30PM

Radio psychologist Jack Black takes his children Joshua and Ashley on a 'vacation' to a lake in British Columbia. While he grinds away at work the children discover that the famous local lake monster "Orky" may not be just a gimmick to attract tourists after all. In fact, Orky may enable them to get closer to their workaholic dad, and help stop local polluters who are dumping toxic waste into Orky's home.
